I cannot imagine how or why you are accessing this online Group without taking the smallest advantage of the virtually limitless information resources available through the Internet.
Dude -- what in blazes do you do with your time? If all you do is read classic novels, I cannot slight you for that decision, but there is a whole world outside your front door.
You have no idea how you sound. Well done--you pompously defended crap culture.
I'm with Hector. Pretty clueless on modern music (other than the Disney music variety, from all the Disney shows my kids watch), but I usually know something about actors and actresses. Although I had no idea who Chris Pratt was before Guardians hit. I even saw the Lego Movie in theaters and had no clue who he was.

I defended nothing. But your comment is incredibly narrow-minded in labeling all of culture as "Crap." The obvious point is : if you do not listen to the radio, do not watch television news, do not access Internet news sources, and read neither newspapers or magazines of any sort, how do you make informed decisions come election day? Even biased Fox "News" covers celebrity topics; absolute blinders are absolute.
I actually know exactly how I sounded. I advocate awareness; one can always recognize extraneous noise and dismiss the insignificant. You are advocating complete ignorance, with the automatic rejection of all input, despite content or intrinsic value. I am an educator, and an dedicated to educating the public. If you consider that pomposity, good luck with that... You have my pity.
