I'm good with a keeper league. We have to decide how many players we are allowed to keep. I think 5 is a good average. Then, however many players you keep, you miss those amounts of draft picks. So, if you decide to keep only two, those two are your first two draft picks. Makes it a bit more challenging deciding who to keep and who to cut loose.

oh ok , I thought it was that if you keep the player you loose the round you drafted him in.. for example if you took brees in the 2nd round then you'd loose your 2nd round pic?

That might be correct. I have never played in a keeper league but have a few friends who do. I might have misunderstood them. I'd prefer it that way. Do you know if you get to see what position you draft in before deciding who to keep?

Ok, just talked to a friend of mine and learned a bit more. We can set up the drafting rules however we want. It can be set up that whoever is kept, that team loses that draft pick. You can set it up that you must lose a pick better than the player you are keeping, whatever you want to do. My friend recommended that, since we weren't aware it was a keeper league last year (when we would have handled players differently due to keeper strategy), we might want to pick a number among ourselves on how many players we keep - everyone locks up that amount of players and then we subtract that many rounds from our draft. His reasoning is that some teams could dump everyone and get more picks early on and grab all the worthwhile players. He said we should not do a random draft order but have the worst team pick first down to the winner picking last, to make it fair. This all made sense, but like I said, we can set up the rules however we want.

I think we should just draft and forget the keeper thing...cause me players may not be returning
