    The Super Hero Movie

Anyone else see the preview for this movie yet? I am a big Leslie Nielsen and Pam Anderson fan so of course I will be seeing it when it comes out. It "looks" to be a funny spoof, but you know how that goes. Some times the best parts are shown in the previews of the movie and then the movie blows big time when you go see it. Either way I will check it out when the time comes and review it accordingly.

It looks as bad as any of the recent "spoof" movies like Scary Movie, Epic Movie, Teen Movie, etc.

I don't like any of these spoof movies. I never laugh really when I see them. However ,.. This is the 1st one that I want to see. Probably because of the Super Hero theme. But I will be waiting for DVD,.. & at that Time ,.. inwhich I would think it would be out on DVD in July,.. I hope I have a Free Rental.

Am I one of the only members here that like spoof movies? I am beginning to think so anyway.

I like the old Zucker Bros/Abrams spoof movies. I haven't seen many of the new ones. I did see "Date Movie". Even the fact that I think Allison Hanigan is really cute couldn't save me from wanting to pull my eyes out while watching that one.

If any of your kids watch "Drake and Josh" on Nick, Drake Bell is playing the Peter Parker-like lead in this.

My kid's laughter at "Drake and Josh" disturbs me.

I always rent these things, sometimes they're great, other times not so much but they're great hangover movies.

I like the first Scary Movie -- it's funny as hell -- but I haven't seen any of the other recent ones. They all look dumber than spit, especially the recent sword-and-sandal spoof the name of which escapes me. If this Super Hero movie is in the vein of those, I think I'll take a pass.

But I love the Naked Gun series, Hot Shots with Charlie Sheen, Top Secret with Val Kilmer, and of course Airplane!. Those movies are rollickingly ridiculous and inspired stupdity!

Since Airplane and the Police Squad TV series (was that the name?), most of these spoof movies have moments for me, but as whole I'm pretty disappointed in them. I wait for them to run on cable and then take 'em in a bit at a time.

I think I'm pretty much spoofed out. I thought Scream was the Horror movie parody, but no - no-no, no-no-no. No, Scary Movie, the Scream-based spoof is the Horror genre spoof. I saw bits and pieces of Leslie Neilsen's last couple of spoof. He did one that was a Fugitive-spoof that was just awful. Give me Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, High Anxiety - anything Mel Brooks did before Spaceballs; Airplane and the first two Naked Gun movies and I'm good. When the spoof movie becomes it's own genre and not a novelty, ugh. But, I've got Super Hero Movie on my Netflix list...

I hate most modern-day spoof flicks but I think this one might be worth buying on bootleg.
At least good for 3 laughs which is more than I can say for most "comedies" these days.

These new spoof movies aren't really spoof movies. They preetty much just throw in a bunch of pop culture references and sort of adhere to what they're supposed to be about. The latest batch have been awful.
