This much I can tell you. Once you get hooked into the digital experience, you'll never look back. I have a 47" LCD HDTV (1080P) with my cable's digital package and it's incredible. Watching football this past year was wild, because you can see individual blades of grass on the field. Me and the wife actually had headaches for about two or three days until we adjusted to the sharpness. For movies I purchased an upconverter DVD player which plays your regular DVDs but at a much higher resolution. The difference is as distinctive as a digital image versus an analog image. You can get a top of the line Sony upconverter for around $95.00, but if you do that I would encourage you to purchase the HDMI chord to run to your TV. I won't kid you. Their about $65.00, but the quality you get is worth every penny. At some point I will get a Blu-ray player, but I'm waiting for the industry to calm down a bit. I think their priced pretty high right now because it's still something of a novelty. Plus Sony just pulled out with their HD players, so the Blu-rays don't really have competition right now.

I picked up the TV last night, and it rocks.

Today I'm getting a HDMI cable to hook up the PS3 so I can test out some bluray movies.

Thanks for al the advice and help.

      Mitch
