    Direct TV reviews please.

    Hi all

Does anybody have direct TV? I had to get rid of Cox cable here in Nevada. Cox cable kept raising my rates like every 3 months. Then when i called them like 15 times complaining to their reps. managers and all it didnt help much. So I signed with Direct tv and the install is tomorrow. I hope it was a smart move. its a 2 yr contract. I hate contracts but had no choice. Im so damn low on cash, so any savings is great. I believe im saving like 45 bucks a months just by going from cox cable to Direct TV. But do any of you all have Direct TV? If so please give me your reviews.

Thanks my friends. I hope you all are well

I had it in 2004 and quit cold turkey thanks to the hurricanes. I honestly don't miss it one bit, the programming on most of the channels was getting worse and worse. The service was ok, I just don't need to watch it anymore. My Roku is a better deal and I get what I need out of it for 16 bucks a month on Hulu and Netflix and the oodles of free channels.

We've had Direct TV for five years now and love it. Never had a problem with service or equipment. Great selection of channels and they're always doing a free preview it seems, so we take advantage of that and have never paid for HBO, etc.

Direct's service is fine, but they are higher than Dish. We initially had Dish, dropped it due to constant loss of signal due to any kind of weather (a stiff breeze would knock it out), went to Direct for a few years, and it just kept getting higher, and higher. So we we went back to Dish, and haven't really had any problems with it since.

DTV is the best, I've had it almost 20 years and basically no problems. You should get the NFL package free this year as a perk, you can watch your favorite team all season till the playoffs then they will be on a network so you shouldn't miss a thing.

I've had Direct TV for about 15 yrs, the service has always been good. Loose signal on bad storms from time to time but I wouldn't trade it for cable...I always had constant problems with cable before switching to Direct, they have good packages....I always recommend it!

Yeah, between Netflix, Hulu, "shiver me timbers" Bay and getting the networks in HD over the air, I will never pay for cable or satellite TV again.

I like DirecTV. I lose signal only in severe storms, and I've had good luck with customer service - both adding & dropping service. My only issue was with an installer who did a really half-assed job of putting up my dish when I moved to a new house. A different tech came out to fix the job and found that the first guy had wedged trash in the clamps to make them tighter...and they naturally slipped.

Best time to sign up is right about now - you might be able to score free NFL Sunday Ticket. There's also a $100 referral bonus for both you and the referrer if you jump through the hoops.

Problem is they're always in fights with different stations. They just got into a fight with Weather Channel. One of my local channels is trying to work out a deal so they don't have to have a fight. They just had a fight with them last year or the year before.
