Well, like I said, the Five Guys vs In N Out rivalry is big here, you have supporters on both sides, I just happen to prefer In N Out burgers, that's all...but Five Guys has the tastier fries, that's for sure.

Jack N the Box is pretty solid, but not 35 mile trip solid...more like 10 mile trip solid, lol.

I recommend doing it yourself. Use a mixture of 1/2 buffalo and 1/2 90% lean beef. Grill it to med-rare and season with salt & pepper. Paint the bun (conservatively) with melted butter and throw it on the grill until it's toasty. That's as good as any burger out there, but with less fat.

However, the one burger that I can't beat is a Don's Original from Rochester, NY with onion, mustard and their special hot sauce. It's a destination burger.

In my area it's a toss-up between a torch burger at The Torch, and a supreme at Halo Burger.
Both (for me) have to be deluxe w/ cheese and green olives.

Oddly enough, The Torch made one of the Thrillist lists of the 33 Best Burgers in the Country .

          It's all super subjective.
          I just feel I'm correct.

There's a local pub that has a rep for making the best burger in town. It's good but expensive for the size. There's also a place about half hour drive away called "Burger Revolution" that was featured on the Canadian cooking show "you gotta eat here" that's really good but like I said half hour drive so unless I'm already in town I'm not spending the money on gas to get there.

That would be fun. Likewise if I make it over to your neck of the woods.

Oh man, the flavor is in the fat, lol.

To each their own, but give me 80/20 beef with garlic salt and pepper, cooked medium please.

This was in our Belgian burger restaurants a while back:

The black one was made with food coloring!

                  They came in SW packaging:

Lick's Homeburger. Southern Ontario chain that has significantly downsized recently (I only know of two left). Quality has dropped lately, but still one of my faves.

We have a Mom-and-Pop place called Hamburger King. It's been here for as long as I can remember and is only opened from 7am - 2:30pm. It has the best, juiciest burgers in town, hands down.

For a chain I like Red Robin (their egg burger) and Five Guys. Unfortunately we don't have In-N-Out Burger here.

I probably should not be thinking of this Group, my Virtual Mego Buddies, or this Topic when I am out to dinner with my wife, but we just went back to the restaurant where I previously had one of the best burgers of my life, and was very conscious of the need to report back here.

Every bit as good as the last time.

While this was not a traditional burger, it was as good as any other I have ever had, with the sole exception of my homemade burgers...

Ostrich party, cooked medium, on a pretzel bun, with provolone cheese, and avocado. Side of onion rings, and two bottles of hard cider.

Nothing turns me off a burger faster than dripping grease.

I want the flavor in the meat, not the fat dripping. That's why I avoid Five Guys.

Now here in FL, nothing beats Char-Hut off University in Lauderdale. Flavorful meat, cooked on a grilll, build your own toppings, poppy seed bun.

a Char-burger with cheese, a dab of mayo, relish, shredded lettuce, and I'm good to go.

This is from Utopia, located on College Street in Toronto's Little Italy. "The Barnyard"... one patty beef, one patty lamb and one patty bison. with crispy onions. served on egg bread.

on tuesdays, you can upsize your fries to Poutine for free. washed down with Hank's Black Cherry soda.
