Rant: YouTube does it to me again!

So yesterday the sound on YouTube goes out. I thought clearing my cookies would fix it...it didn't. So I upgraded my Flash Player. Now the volume on YouTube is so low, at full volume, I have to be sitting right in my computer chair, up close to the PC to hear it. Everything else, (computer sounds, Windows Media, Hulu), works fine. It's so infuriating. Sometimes I use YouTube like a radio, and play music while I'm doing other things. Guess I can't do that anymore. Why is there this constant need to upgrade and change everything? If it ain't broke, don't fix it! It never makes the issue better.

That exact thing happens to me sometimes on youtube ... It says I need to upgrade my Flash

That never works

What works for me is just rebooting the computer

I don't mess with cookies etc.

So far a reboot worked every time

Yeah - Flash seems like the most likely issue. Try re-installing the driver.

OR - try another browser. I use Chrome and Safari right now.
