    HTM your own Chocolate Koogle!

    Hi guys,

Sometimes you can find chocolate flavored Jif or Jif To Go in stores, but in case you can't and you have a craving for your childhood favorite Chocolate Koogle, I have the solution! Find an old recycled peanut butter jar. Mix 1/2 peanut butter and 1/2 Hershey's chocolate spread. Stir thoroughly. If you want, you can even slap a Koogle label on the jar and lid. Enjoy!

I've never heard of Koogle before. They must not have sold it around here.

I've not heard of it before, either. When did production cease?

I haven't heard of it, either; still, it sounds awesome, HardyGirl. Lucky for me, my diabetes doctor was just telling me I wasn't getting enough carbs!

Oh wow....really? Never heard of Koogle? (and I think all of the folks who know what it is read this post and chose not to reply). Anyway....Koogle was a flavored peanut butter product in the early to mid 70s, (though not quite sure when Kraft halted production), that came in chocolate, vanilla, banana and cinnamon. The earlier commercial featured Alice Playten:

But the later (and more popular commercial) which is not on YouTube featured a creature w/ big googly eyes with the catch phrase "Peanutty Koogle w/ the Goo-Goo-Googly eyes!"

My fave was chocolate, and I was really sad when Kraft stopped making it. But I'm happy now that I can make my own. It's awesome on toast and pancakes too!

                I was born in 1974. I guess that's why I hadn't heard of it.

I read what I could about it (on Wikipedia). It was introduced in 1971. Maybe sales were never quite as good as Kraft wanted them to be. It appears that in later commercials the mascot was explaining to kids what Koogle was. And, in other later commercials for the product, "mothers" were endorsing Koogle. Possibly an attempt to encourage actual mother to purchase Koogle for their children.

At least you have a recipe for chocolate Koogle when you're craving it these days!
