This morning on H2 they aired an episode of UFO Files from 2005 called The Day After Roswell. It went into the claims of a U.S. Army Lt. Colonel, at the time, who claimed that technology such as lasers, integrated circuits and fiber optics were found at the crash site and reverse engineered and because of that, these technologies are used by humans today. However, the scientist who developed these technologies, as well as historians, refuted these claims. Infact, lasers and fiber optics took years to develop into what we know them to be today.

Now, that was a good episode. I hadn't expected it to be as objective as it was. If the series Ancient Aliens was presented like this episode of UFO Files was, it would be much improved.

NatGeo once had something similar on once. You had these nuts trying to convince people that all of the ancient structures around the world were built by aliens to help them navigate around the world. The scientist they had on to refute their claims was funny. He said these aliens figured out a way to travel millions of light years to get from their planet to ours and that was the best they could come up with for a GPS?

I think it may have been "The Real Roswell" on the National Geographic channel (though, I could be wrong). "The Real ..." was a good series that I think must be long gone, as far as new episodes go. Fortunately, they rerun them from time to time.

They also did a special on the moon landing a few years back. It dealt with people who believe that we never landed on the moon and the people from NASA and other experts that negate that belief. The great thing is that they approached it by examining each point, that those who don't believe we landed on the moon hold to say "that's why it couldn't have happened," and then the experts give a detailed explanation as to why it was/or happened that way.

I think what a lot of folks forget is that in ancient times, people had the time and patience to work a project to completion, even if that project took your entire lifetime. There were no distractions for jobs, gossip, texting, tv, or facebook to whittle away your time. You worked a thing, ate, slept. Repeat. Today we expect things to be done immediatly, and cannot fathom a thing taking years to be done by hand.
Also there was pride in craftmanship as well, objects were meant to last not be disposable.
It's truly amazing some of the things accomplished by man without the use of modern building technology. Aside from the ancient wonders, look at things like the Erie Canal, dug by hand mostly, the Hoover Dam, the Empire State Building...
Imagine collecting a few thousand unemployed workers today to build something like that. Never happen.

They had a good one on earlier tonight. They think Bigfoot is also an alien.

              Of course, he/she is! lol

I'm looking at an acoustic guitar of mine, right now. There will probably be an episode soon saying that guitars along with all other musical instruments came from "ancient aliens."
