RIP Maverick and Jim Rockford. You will be missed.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
We've been watching The Rockford Files on netflix for weeks now and in fact I had mentioned it to one of my golfing buddies who watched some last night. Said he hadn't seen it in twenty years. He texted me this morning with the news. Sad to see him go.
I was just humming the theme song to The Rockford Files last night for no apparent reason. How weird! I'll never forget his role in Barbarians at The Gate. Great actor. RIP Jim.
I'm still so sad about this. One of the newscasts said an actor who's "been around your whole life" has passed. So true.
Funny thing: about a year ago, I stumbled upon his daughter's site and she'd found my Jim Rockford figure in cyberspace and posted it there. I emailed and told her it was mine and what a fan I am of her Dad.

Of course, The Great Escape, Support Your Local Sherriff, Support Your Local Gunfighter, Murphy's Romance and Space Cowboys, etc. aren't in the line-up, but this marathon should be good nonetheless.
