Yeah, I read this yesterday. It was fun. I really wish her creation wasn't as precious to her as it is. The world she created in her novels are every bit as fertile as the Star Wars or Star Trek universes.
I'd enjoy reading a Young Dumbledore series of novels or comics or something featuring the wizards whom Hogwarts Houses are named after or the adventures of Harry's dad, Remus and Sirius or how Voldermort became the Dark Lord. Oh, well. -

looks like she is open to expanding the universe past Potter and Co though. She's writing the screenplay to a Fantastic Beasts spinoff movie for Warners. (I'm sure they backed up the Money Truck to her door after Green Lantern under performed.... the DCU was supposed to replace the Potter Movies as their reliable annual go-to Summer Tentpole movies)

The news last year about the movies was good. If the films are creatively fulfilling to her, maybe she'll let go of the rope a little more.
But, I'm more interested in more novels or comics. Something ongoing. I understand her reluctance to let others play or mess up her creations, but no matter what else is ever done with the characters, the quality of her novels will remain.
I've been hoping that Rowling's trust in Diane Nelson, who oversaw the production of the Potter series and now heads up DC, would eventually lead to something in comics.
Yeah the flop of the GL film along with the inside politics really threw a wrench in The WB's super hero plans. However if the rumors are correct there are big plans in the next few years with JLA and some solo and team-up films.Last edited by madmarva; Jul 11, '14, 1:39 AM.Comment
