Have you ever called a how's my driving #

On the way into Cleveland this morning there was a jerk in a Direct TV van behind us riding our bumper . It was a 55mph area and there were cars in front of us so we couldn't go any faster. He cut out around us in a no passing zone , and with traffic coming towards he cut us off as he pulled back in between us and the car in front of us.
And there on the back of the van was this number How's my driving ? 1-866-942-4320. I had the wife call as we continued behind him but not for long, he cut out around and passed the cars that were in front of it. She talked to the lady on the phone and gave her the plate # on the van , and she said she would be in contact with the driver.
The happy ending to the story happened about a couple miles down the road when we passed the Direct TV van that was pulled over off the side of the road and saw the driver talking on the phone, hopefully getting his butt chewed out.
Wonder if he forgot that phone number was back there?

No, they don't forget. My last job was working for a service industry co - locally we had over 100 fleet vehicles on the road every day. As the Ops Manager I received all of the Drivers Alerts - these are the reports that come in every time someone calls the number. Our drivers were idiots - they knew the # was on their van yet every day I'd get no less than 10 alerts for tailgating, speeding, weaving, texting/talking while driving, etc etc.

Drivers Alert also provides the recorded call. Some of them were hilarious.

we've called before. Was not impressed.
We were following a Comcast van on a two-lane road.
He kept crossing the center line...then drifting onto the shoulder.
There were a couple close calls of head-on accidents...but not to the point of severe swerving and tire screeching...but we weren't gonna let a third close call be the one.

I called the number and some guy answered.
His first words were not 'hello', rather, he asked for the vehicle number next to the 1-800 sticker...so I gave it to him.
He asked specific questions about the make/model of the vehicle...license plate, etc..
He asked what the reason was for the call, and I explained his erratic driving behavior.
He started to really waste my time - asking me if I felt the driver was intoxicated, etc...asking me about road conditions...seriously, I got fifty questions and I got annoyed really quick.

I fully believe the driver was either texting or reading email on a laptop...something enough to take his eyes off the road long enough.

The phone operator started in on another round of questioning...went back to road conditions and "where" we were at following this guy.
I got really ticked off at one point and told him to forget it - even while on the phone with this clown, the driver crossed the center line again into oncoming traffic..
The phone operator had the gall to get short with ME, so i said forget it, I'd just call 911 and report this clown.
His tune changed, and he finished asking me all his questions.
We followed this guy for a good 25 more minutes before he turned off in a small town.

I'd love to know if anything was really even said.
I was naive to think the 1-800 number on the Comcast van went to some 3rd party vendor who knew nothing about the vehicle. The 1-800 number was just a hired hand for several companies...which i guess does make sense...I just was totally unprepared for such a darn run around and hassle trying to report the guy.

I have been called on several times. Let me start by saying my health has been in decline for the last couple years.I kept drifting off to the side of the road as I drove due to poor eyesite and falling assleep among other reasons.Luckily we had a mutual parting of ways,I and they were afraid I would kill someone so there were no hard feelings.Im currently unable to drive or work but Im glad that number was on my truck or who knows what would have happened.

We have a thing called Road Watch here, you can basically rat people out to the cops and they get a warning letter.

I've done it twice, both times it's been a teen driving Mommie's car through stop signs nearly hitting me.
