^^thanks. It was quite a blow to her an I.
After getting past the shock, I realized my plan can stay on track. I wasn't quitting my day job for at least another year, depending on sales. I am still moving forward with the film preservation and my art gallery. Hoping for a good year.
I have been doing lots of film lately, built a Facebook page, and bought my domain.
I have been performing some post production filters and color correction - wow, it is so hard to imagine these tiny 8mm film frames can look so good when they are smaller than your pinky fingernail...
so, the transfers are moving in well - not quitting my day job anytime soon, but it is coming in. I have paid Facebook for some boosting and it has done mediocre at best. Yesterday, I posted a clip of my Grandpa driving through our town for a couple minutes. Wow, I don't know what it was about that clip, but in my small world, it went viral. Over 25,000 reached, over 12,000 views, hundreds of shares and my "likes and follows" tripled in about 8 hours time. Had someone in Chicago actually see it; he called his sister in my town and within an hour I had all their family films. Cha-CHing!
wow, the video hit over 119,000 people reached - of those, 56,000 watched it. My "Likes & Follows" went up six-times!
Amazing how driving thru town attracted so many people.
^^where'd you notice reel click? there were a couple sample clips I added the projector noise to at 35% volume just so it wasnt so quiet. In order to author DVDs, it has to have an audio track or it wont work. If I have to author soundtracks, that is going to get real time consuming lol. So far, people are digging the retro of it. I have enough orders to keep me up late every night for a couple weeks now and more apparently on the way.
oh, sure - any audio you may have heard in any of the clip is there because I put it there artificially. The film is silent when it comes off my machine.
