One For The Boxing Fans Here

Picked this up last Sat. while out hitting a few yard sales. Just got it checked out today and it's definitely original. Old Dempsey- Firpo fight oil painting. Yeah it's in rough shape but I only gave $4 for it and wouldn't take $400 for it. I just love it. Color is in much better shape than it looks. Now to get it properly framed.

Thats great! Sick find!! Growing up one of my best friends ( John Dempsey ) was said to be related to Jack Dempsey. My friends Dad seemed to be sure of it. Anyways my buddy John himself was one helll of a puncher. He was the toughest kid in our juinior high and High school. I seen him knockout guys 50-60 lbs larger then himself with a single shot. I used to train in Martial arts, then boxing. Once I sparred my buddy Dempsey in my basement and i was jabbing and moving and he couldnt touch me then the next thing i remember is hearing him say over & over are you ok? You ok? He apperently knocked me out on my feet with a left hook. lol.Fun times. My friend eventually started boxing a local gym, he was knocking sparring partners out left and right. a few weeks later he died in a tragic accident that haunts me to this day. Those childhood buddies you really never forget nor want to.
