I finally watched "The Best Picture of the Year" on DVD this weekend.
I have almost always enjoyed watching movies that won best picture and after seeing them, really liked them. I did not see "The Departed" until it came out on DVD and thought it was an excellent flick.
This movie, I just didn't get. I thought it had its good moments and was intrigued by the plot but the pace of the movie was very slow and actually quite dull in many parts. I also didn't get the big hoopla surrounding the so-called "suprise ending" (and I won't give it away). It just didn't make any sense to me. I actually had to rewind it a few times to the last few scenes to make sure I didn't miss something.
I thought I was in for a "The Usual Suspects" type of ending but this was one of the biggest let downs of all time.
Am I alone regarding this movie?
