    Spiderman 2

spiderman 2.jpg I went to see the new Spiderman 2 movie last night in 3D. I highly reccomend this movie. Lots of action and the 3D effects were pretty cool. I scored a very neat collector cup of Spiderman as well.

I really disliked this movie. The script is brutal. I was actually angry after it ended and I saw it for free. I'm not prone to nerd rage, but this one is wrongheaded at every turn.

I guess being a Spiderman fan I enjoyed it a lot. Was a nice night out with the family. Seeing about 30 other people with Spiderman T shirts on like mine was also pretty cool. I do admit that Rhino looked a little over the top.

I liked it. In fact, I liked it better than the last one. Liked the story, and Garfield and Stone. Check out the spoiler thread in the comics section.

Well, unless you are a comicbook Spidey fan.. dare I say a "hardcore" Spidey fan... as in:

With the script being much tighter than the first Webb ASM, and having just as much, if not more organic feel to it than the Raimi standout stuff, I can only surmise that comicbook sticklers go into it with much higher/narrower expectations as far as characterization etc.

Wow, Hugh could you be more wrong? I haven't read the comic since I was a kid. My passion is movies. Your opinion is the script is tight. My opinion is the story is god awful, with unnecessary storylines that reduce main character development, poor and obvious dialog, and scenes that have no logic. It also has awful tonal zhifts that are jarring. This is all my opinion. Feel free to bloviate.

BTW, I rarely crap on somebody else's opinion, which I'm afraid I might have in this thread. I just really hated this movie. I actually liked the last one, though I didn't love it

I went into this movie expecting to hate it, but my 10-year-old daughter has been dying to see it. She loved it, and grinned ear-to-ear when Stan Lee showed up for his cameo. I'll be honest, I didn't really hate it, but I didn't really like it either. There are a lot of problems with the script and with the execution of the movie. With that being said, watching it with my daughter and seeing how much she loved it took away a lot of my preconceived notions. 10-year-old kids will like it. 40+-year-old adults probably will not. In the grand scheme of the universe, that's probably how it should be anyway.

You just confirmed to my wife that despite my age ( 46 ) I am still just a kid at heart.
