A moment to reflect on how good we have it right now...

I began a weeks vacation today, and was messing around down in my toyroom, officially called "The Sanctum", just kind of taking it all in, and thinking about all the great toys, comics, and movies still coming out this year. New DC and Marvel Megos! Six Million Dollar Man figures! Not to mention Batman on DVD!

It just made the little kid in me squeal with joy...I would've never thought at age 42 I'd be playing with brand new '66 Batman TV toys...waiting for the FIFTH Spider-Man movie to hit this weekend, not to mention Godzilla in a couple weeks...reading a new Six Million Dollar Man comic...what a great time to be a kid at heart. It makes me feel young.

We are really living in the new Golden Age of nostalgia. I know sometimes we argue with each other over different aspects of collecting, but really, have we ever had so much as we do now? I don't think we have, and I for one am grateful for each and every little bit of joy that comes from collecting, and from being part of this fantastic community. It's great to have such a wonderful place as the Mego Museum to share our love of this stuff.

Here's to a year filled with so many good things it's hard to keep track of them all!

Agreed! We are living in an embarrassment of riches right now. The internet/mobile technology has also made our hit of nostalgia accessible from our fingertips 24/7 as well.

The past couple of weeks have been amazing. Its the second coming of Mego with both Marvel and DC figures being produced!

If, as a child, I had had all the things that we can get today, my head would have exploded!
It's a golden age of action figure collecting.
Just think of the many licenses that are out there now, like TZ figures, a 12" Snake Plissken coming, you name it.
No matter how unlikely the license is, it seems like just a matter of time before you get an action figure line from it.
We're incredibly lucky.
If only my wallet was equally fortunate...
