    The Ultimate Warrior has died

WWE has reported that Jim Helwig has passed away. No details are available at this time. This time it's no joke or rumor. Wow. I just watched him get inducted into the HoF and now this. Anyone else notice how strangely he was walking to the podium with his daughters? He might have been a terrible techincal wrestler and maybe a horrible person to work with backstage, but he did more to elevate the industry than just about anybody. Maybe Hogan had more influence bringing wrestling into mainstream America. He has now returned home to parts unknown.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

      Wow for real?
      R.I.P. Warrior
His spirit will live on through Damian.

        I'm beyond SHOCKED!!!!!!!!!!

Just watched him in the HOF...and also his recent appearances on Raw...wow.

I feel for Damien...he loves the Warrior...this one was a true shocker just because he was on a live show just a couple of days ago.

Yes, I noticed that...he had the same gait on Raw...he was walking rather gingerly.

My heart is broken by this...loved you Warrior.

The Ultimate Warrior, one of U.S. professional wrestling's most celebrated athletes, has died at the age of 54, days after being inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment Inc Hall of Fame, the company said late on Tuesday.

"WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior," the Stamford, Connecticut-based company said on its website.

Warrior, whose real name was James Hellwig, began his WWE career in 1987 and rose to become one of the biggest stars in WWE history, the company said, highlighting an "epic encounter" in which he defeated Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI to become a WWE Champion.

The cause of his death was not given. He was added to the Hall of Fame on April 5.

"We are grateful that just days ago, Warrior had the opportunity to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame and was also able to appear at WrestleMania 30 and Monday Night Raw to address his legions of fans."

Supporters and wrestlers took to the internet to express their respect for Hellwig, survived by his wife Dana and his two daughters, WWE said.

The amount of steroids the guy pimped into his body didn't help, I'll bet. The price these guys pay......

Very sad, but at least his final days were a celebration of his life and accomplishments.

My grandfather referred to him as "The Indian". He made quite an impact on us young uns when he debuted. Instantly everyone's favorite, and Hogan was suddenly old hat.

We noticed his being out of breath on Monday night, and my husband remarked that he must have really torn up his body when he was younger by the way he was walking.

It's almost like he knew this was his last chance to say goodbye, and he took it.

I'm sad to see him go, but dang, what a way to go... make amends with the WWE, get inducted to the Hall of Fame, go to Wrestlemania, show up on RAW with a live mic to say bye, and instead of disappearing into obscurity, he dies. This is the stuff legends of made of.
