Did anyone else catch the new episode of Storage Wars where Daryl and his son purchased the unit full of toys and some guy appraised the haul at $40,000.00? I know he had a lot of items but there was no way they were worth that much. The appraiser said a loose Super Powers Batmobile was worth at least $100.00 and some newer released Marvel model kits were worth $30.00 to $40.00 a piece. I agree there was a lot of stuff but unless there were some old toys, worth some big bucks, that I didn't see, then that price is way out of line. I get a kick out of how they buy a unit and start throwing a price out of thin air of what something, "they feel is worth". That's why I stopped watching but when I saw the preview about toys I wanted to see what they dug up.

Yeah I watched that. I have to admit that I don't know very much about those newer toys but I didn't see that stuff bringing what the "appraiser" was throwing out. The comic books looked like fodder for the two-for-a-dollar bin too.
Thing is, these shows throw around these big values for items and neglects to mention how you must find the guy/gal that will pay these big bucks. I'd like to see the Toy Hunter come in and dicker with the guy who bought the toys and watch the fireworks! Now that would be a cross-over! -
I think a Toy Hunter and Storage Wars crossover would be great fun. Daryl spouting off about having $40,000.00 in toys and then being offered a $1,000.00 from Jordan, for all of it, would be television GOLD! I'd definitely watch that showdown.Comment

They're advertising something call Down South Dickering or Dickery or such. God, how I wish they would start making regular TV shows again... with the constant copying of each other's formats this is getting ridiculous. Does anyone think this style of show is going to blow itself out at some point, or is this the future of cable TV? I personally think "regular" shows are going to go the way of Netflix & PPV, while cable/broadcast TV is going to become this & 24/7 "news" ( of the Fox variety).Comment

That haul was not even close to $40,000. If it was, my basement inventory has to appraise north of $1M... A lot of the stuff that was in that clip were $5-10 items at best. Most of those Marvel models can't be given away, the 'new in box' Star Wars figures that are 'rapidly gaining value' may have increased from $2 each to $3 each, but I wouldn't say that's 'rapid'.
All that said, for some reason I still watch the show, I just have to laugh at valuations they put on things. "Oh that printer from 2005 has got to be worth at least $100, it's a Hewlett Packard!"Looking for:- Lincoln Monsters (Any condition)
- Boxed Mego Monsters
- AHI Jigglers / Bendy Monsters (Carded and Loose)
- ANYTHING Monster related

Oddly enough, most of these shows have very little to do with reality..

I almost fell off my chair when I heard him say it was all worth that much! It just goes to show how unrealistic the prices they give to draw people in. When my father was alive we use to joke about them finding rat crap and saying it was worth at least $50.00 a pile in their store! That's one reason I don't watch very often but when I do it's to see Brandy and the new English guys wife! Does anyone know what ever happened to the idiot Dave Hester? I always wanted to see someone punch him in his cocky face when he started saying, "YUUUUUP"!Comment

I stopped watching the storage wars when Brandie found a box of Megos MIP, took them to a comic book store to have priced and they low-balled them. They had all the rare super-hero megos in package and in graded condition. I have never know of somebody that was that careless to leave that many Megos in that great of condition in a storage shed and not pay for there spot.Visit my wiki site:

Hester was fired after he was telling people that the show is rigged like everyone thinks it is.Comment
