When I signed on this thread I thought I was going to read a lot of mixed bag reviews considering how uneven the movie is, instead there seems to be a lot of praise for it. I guess Im in the minority on this one but I thought this movie just wasn't that good. It was long winded, the plot was recycled from dozens of "rouge agents against the agency" movies, the dialog difficult to follow at times, and there were some huge plot holes, logistical errors and down right stupidity on some of the characters parts that just seemed out of place. I liked the action in it and Chris Evans was great as Steve Rogers but as far as sequels go I thought this left a lot to be desired especially after how much I liked Thor 2. I mean I didn't Superman hate it but I'd put it somewhere just above the last Wolverine movie."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

Spoiler-free review:
Chris Evans owns the role as Cap. He played the part of the man out of time really well, and had some powerful scene with Winter Soldier too. It was also great to see Cap use his super strength this time. He's able to take out people with a single kick, punch, or shleid bash. Him crashing through those doors and leaping through windows, and landing from 20 foot jumps was all very cool to see.
Sebastian Stan also owned the role of The Winter Soldier; he was fantastic as the merciless killer bad-*** we all know he would be. I wish he had more screen time though.
Mackie was a fun addition as Falcon, providing most of the films laughs. He also got to kick butt as the Falcon too.
Scarlett also provided some laughs, as she constantly tried to set-up Steve with people, and kicked major butt as well, even more than in Avengers.
Redford was fantastic as Pierce. He played him with a real coolness about him.
It did seem like several scenes that were shown in the trailer were cut from the film (like Winter Soldier picking up Cap's shield). I hope that several extended scenes will appear on the DVD/Blu-Ray.
One problem I had was the shaky cam during the fight scenes. It gets better as the film goes on, but it's very noticeable in the beginning, especially during the Lemurian Star fight scenes.
I can't wait to see how they'll be brought back together for Age of Ultron, given the first post-credits scene, and recent set pics from AoU.
They also gave some nice fan-nods throughout (which is pretty much expected at this point):
And Jackman's score was awesome, providing a great new theme for Cap, and a twisted one for the Winter Soldier. He also delivers and excellent action score (a bit like Man of Steel, but I'm not complaining), and knows when to make it more emotional. It was also cool how he included bits of Silvestri's theme in the beginning.
Overall, TWS is a fantastic movie, filled with tons of twists and excellent action, with amazing performances and a fantastic score. It's definitely tied with Avengers as one of Marvel's best movies.sigpic

Well Im usually very critical of movies in general. I like what I like and I'm hard to impress but when something is good, I'll sing it's praise all day long (Gravity). When something is terrible, I'll rip it up like there's no tomorrow (Man of Steel). The worst thing something can be is mediocre. Somethings that's not "great" or "terrible" just kinda falls in the middle and soon gets forgotten which is kind of where this movie was for me. Overall generic and underwhelming. I'll post in the Spoilers thread what I liked and didn't like about it and you guys can take it from there..."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

I went to see Cap with my brother, who usually hates everything on the silver screen, and he loved it. He had nothing but good things to say, which was a real shock to me. This is the same guy who hated the last X-men film! Myself I thought it was a fantastic film and will be seeing it again with my children. I think they did a great job with introducing the Falcon and Winter Soldier. It makes me hungry for the next superhero film to come out!Comment
