Gulden Draak from Belgium is a wicked indulgence especially at 10% alcohol.
I bought a bottle of Tom Green's beer but I'm afraid to try it in case he confesses a few years from now that in contains whale sperm and was filtered through used pantyhose.
I have also been on a bit of a cider kick. Trying the different brands. For the ladies I'd like to recommend a Mort Subite in either cherry or strawberry as well as Fruili. My wife is not a beer drinker but really likes these fruity flavours.
I don't like beer and I don't drink it. I can't stand the taste and I don't really see the attraction. Tho I have to say I have only tried mainstream beers like Heineken, etc. Once I may have tried Guinness light at a place in NYC called McSorley's. A friend tried to share Amaretto from the bottle with me once, (he hid it in his jacket at a Christmas event once), but it was overpowering.
I'm not a drinker really but I do like Sangria, Zinfendel and some types of wine, usually red, if they aren't too strong/bitter. I've had Teqila, Mike's Hard Lemonade and Bartles & James. If you can recommend a beer that is stronger in flavor than bitterness I might try it.
I'm Belgian, need I say more?
We have bars where you can get hundreds of different kinds, even ones called "Sudden Death", "Devil Beer", "Flying Pink Elephants" and other colorful ways of getting falling down drunk.
We brew the really heavy beers. Tourists come over and usually underestimate the Power of the Dark Beer...
And I'm sorry to say, but I'd rather drink camel's urine than Stella. Please come over to Belgium, so I can introduce you to the good stuff!
America is the land of immigrants, and it's HUGE...nice to report...our beer joints now rival yours...
I puke at the thought of Coors, Budwiser, Miller basic beers.
I am lucky to live in the land of microbreweries. We have so many great beers on tap here it's "mind bottling" sometimes. Old Chicago is a great place to try beers. They carry a huge variety and a bunch of locals. A couple I've started to really enjoy outside of CO are Stone from CA, Goose Island from IL.
I never could understand how people could love beer. It tastes awful to me.
Heh, I feel the same way about coffee, hideously tasting stuff IMO. Honestly, it's all about acquired taste, I used to hate beer and wine, now I love them both (it just took a combination of being a teenager, peer pressure and wanting to get buzzed, that was a big help ). But although I've tried several times, I could never develop a taste for coffee, my body just completely rejects it.
Since 2006, Beau's Brewing Co. has been brewing interesting, award-winning, tasty craft beers using high quality ingredients.
Crazy Canuck Pale Ale is great. It's in a king can, and has really cheesy looking packaging, but don't be thrown off by that, it's surprisingly tasty stuff. And I'm not normally a big Pale Ale dude:
