This was all today from one yard sale I almost didn't stop at. As I was paying the guy he said the one of the two most horrible phrases you can hear at a yard sale: " You should have been here sooner, another guy bought most of the action figures and comic books". ARrrgh!!!!!!
Still, how did I do for $30 bucks?

Bought a batman mego pez head at flea market for $5, yay!
Then I promptly dropped it and lost it.
Fellow mm member Lonnie was with me, I thought he was gonna strangle me for losing it!
Put up a lost sign at my table and eventually another vendor returned it to me, yay!INEPT VINTAGE WISENHEIMER

It is a lamp, a ceramic one. I thought at first it was a homemade type, but its from a company called Windmill, released for the 1st movie. the bandolier slots and his eyes change color as the light inside revolves. He's about 10" tall!
Only thing I bought at a yard sale this weekend though was an electric tree branch trimmer, but I found a loose set of the Marvel Monsters from the Legends series (Tomb of Dracula, Simon Garth Zombie, Werewolf by Night, & Monster of Frankenstein) at the Goodwill.Comment

At least you found it again. A few weeks back I bought a (assuming unlicenced) minature Ray Harryhausen cyclops from Sinbad made by Ral Partha for AD&D, the kind made out of soft lead. It was about an inch and a half and painted really well. Paid $5 for it. was pretty happy about finding it. Dropped it not 10 minutes later and the whole top of the head went flat.Comment

I have an unfinished one, as well as an unfinished Vader and finished R2D2. Was always hoping to find some more, there must be a C3PO one too.Comment

My only thrifting day out so far this year - a neighborhood sale in the next little town. Just a few goodies. Being the first day out, I had to use restraint to not fill the car.

---^ yay, some activity finally this year!
I'm always completely amazed by the things you find and how much you make on them. Just astounding!
Man, I don't know about everybody else, but it's been a really harsh sparse year. Not just because of family derailing issues and no money, it keeps raining and everybody ducks back inside their hovels like groundhogs!! It's going to be raining again this weekend.
So far, I've only gotten out one full 3-day weekend stretch this year, (last weekend) and didn't find much, but it was nice to get out and go hunting. I'm still recovering. I took alot of pics because .....why not? It makes it look like alot more than it is.
This stuff's not worth much, but at least it's pretty or cheerful!
---^ the stuff above not covered in following photos are awesome Skull Gemmy electronic chimes for $2, nice curio cabinet for only $2, free planet solar system (missing motor), three DVDs $1 ea: Swartzewhatever's Running Man, Akira, Legend of Hell House. I'm in for some gooooood times.
Decor! Because I'm a girl!
That awesome figure mushroom was from last month actually. I found it at Rite-Aid for clearance $5. My favorite thing now. The weird vintage pottery mouth ashtray/sponge holder $1 (he was dirty and I had to rescue him), those sweet blue vintage Ceramic Japan Foo Dogs were only $1 each at a rummage sale (I almost felt bad, the lady didn't even know what they were, asked if they were pencil holders), some strange resin birds $1.99 local thrift store, and those lighted Halloween blow molds (used to go on lawn stakes) were in a box of Christmas for $2.
Toys and dolls!!
Vinyl Toy Major Trading Pegasus $3 (don't TOUCH my Pegasus's and Unicorns!), a nice Gene doll for only $2! with an ugly Loves Ghosts outfit (lady didn't know what Gene was either, I'm sure I'll sell it later after customizing it), sweet *ss vintage 21" bottle doll kit (I had to fix her, falling apart) $3, everything else .25 or free, except the non-working remote control rat for $1 which means I can now re-enact scenes from Ben or RATS. :P
Here's a close-up of the vintage bottle doll (those were kits that you glued the hair, attached the torso to an empty household bottle, and sewed the outfit from a pattern, alot of work!). I had to put her head on with wires and re-glue the curls. I am endlessly fascinated by her grotesque gargantuan helmet hair. I wonder if I could hide things in there...?
And I only photo'd this Christmas stuff to show the joys of deal hunting. They came in one purchase lot of $3 total, and one box of Halloween & Christmas for $2. I'll sell the stuffs I don't want (not shown, even making money), meaning all these glorious yuletide enhancements are .... FFRRRRRRREEEEEEEEE!!!!
Free beautiful Christmas stuff is worth the sore back of garage-saleing.

I am not sure if you all want me on this thread. My wife and I hit flea markets, antique stores and/or auctions almost every week. Our searches often take us to multiple locations in a single day. We recently tackled the place billed as "Wisconsin's Largest Antique Mall," which everyone claims you need an entire day -- or probably the entire weekend -- but we finished it in just over three hours (we are what you would call: "Professionals").
I try to take photos of each day's haul just so I can keep track of what we found where and when. Not even halfway through the year, I see that I have 20 photo folders in 2014 alone -- some of these contain photos of items acquired at more than a dozen different places.
I will browse through these albums and think what might be of general interest here.Comment

You're so lucky you have so many places in driving distances. I WISH I could traverse that much (and had the money to do so).
It'd be really interesting to see what you guys find on a regular basis!Comment

not a toy or even toy related but I thought it was awesome retro goodness. radio works and sounds great. I am working on fixing the turntable although I have no experience whatsoever in repairing something like that. I found a tutorial on utube about cleaning it up and putting new lubricant, not sure if that is the problem or not. I can manually spin the turntable but it won't go on. anyway, for $5.00 I thought it was more than worth it. not sure if the 8 track works or not as I have no 8 tracks but I ordered one on ebay to try it outComment
