Anyone ever ship a vehicle?

I need to get a car from CA to NY, and I don't really have the time or inclination to drive it myself. I've never used an auto-shipper before, just wondering if anyone here has, and can relay their experience, which carrier they used, etc.

I've done some preliminary research, cost looks to be in the $1000 range..

I shipped a running/driving car from California to Illinois, used DAS

I think it ran me around $700. Cars that don't run cost more, if your car has to be in an enclosed carrier, the price goes up. If the cost of fuel is high at the time, the price is more etc...

Yep, DAS is who I used to get an initial estimate. Just googling around they seem to have a pretty good reputation. But I'm also seeing a fair share of horror stories of auto-shipping in general.

The car in question is a 2009 Accord and runs fine.

I sold a 1977 AMC Pacer a few years ago. Buyer paid $1200 to have the car picked up by a carrier and take it from NJ to Seattle.

I shipped a VW Jetta from Seattle to Alaska back in about 2004, but that won't help you much since it went via slow boat.
