Maybe just being on the outside looking in but the last time I checked, the Yankees have won more World Series than any other team and do seem to make it to the playoffs every year...I follow the Orioles so I'd take the Yankees record any day.

Heck even as you read that story it somehow became baseball is a joke. Yet some teams have already had this type of fun with celebs.

Your do have a good point: you and I won't ever play for our team.

    ... no harm meant.

kiss this is a joke. any celebs playing are taking a chance away from talent to be sowcased and given a chance. as a new englander who wins a LOT I CAN UNDERSTAND YOU SYAING THAT BUT LAST TIME NEW YORK WON ANYTHING BESIDES THE GIANTS WAS 2000. so teh yankess being picked on for being winners is total bs. mike

Great job by Billy C. The 60 year older looked fantastic. Great cuts and the foul was fantastic.

Why are we getting worked up about baseball anyways? I mean big deal,Crystal has to just stand there and hit a ball. It's not like it's Spike Lee wanting to try out for the Knicks.(might improve them, who knows?)

I didn't see the video....did the pitcher only throw fastballs at him?

Someone mentioned he played baseball in college so I'm sure if he went to batting cage he could learn to hit 90 MPH fast balls but throw a bunch of different pitches to him across the plate and see if he can hit them.

I played soccer and I could go out and put a nicely placed PK on a professional goalie. It probably isn't going to go in but it will look good on the video.

I saw Crystal's at-bat.. not bad at all! The Bucs pitcher came at him full speed, which surprised me. Crystal put the bat on ball, fouling one down the first base line. I think he worked the count to 3-2, but struck out on a tough inside cut fastball, which would have been ball four.

A good thing for the pitcher. Had he walked him (or worse, gave up a hit), he never woulda heard the end of it. Especially from his own teammates..

It's good to see when everyone complains about our school system that non-educated people can teach school, especially celebrities. I forgot that they can do anything, they have the money. As far as baseball goes a 59 year old actor playing "real" pro baseball is a joke. I guess we are lucky a comedian is doing it and not the common man. God forbid one of us peeons gets to live a dream. Only money and status could accomplish that.
Jacsfc goes gaga over anything celebrity (as seen by his defenses of them in previous posts).

Didn't they let some really old dude like in his 70's play one game in the minors like 2 months ago?

I know I heard that on ESPN

Sad thing is, if he was doing this for the Orioles, he'd probably wind up being an opening day starter

Brock Lesner tried out for the Vikings a few yrs back,.. when he quit the WWE,.. but couldn't make the Roster. Hell,.. Kurt Warner was a Stock Clerk,.. look what he did. I'd say go for it Coach !

.. I don't watch, & have no interest in Baseball. I just think every great Player is on Steriods,.. inwhich the owners & MLB themselves provided connections, to gain interest in a Dying Sport , succeeded to a degree, & now the players are battling convictions alone , & a new one pops up these days it seems every month,. Just my opionion on the matter.

    So let Billy Play Ball.
