Yeah. It's the headline on Drudge report. Terrible, terrible, terrible. He was an amazing and diverse actor. What a shocking loss. A unique talent. Very sad. My favorites were Big Lebowski and Almost Famous.

Jeez, that's awful. Apparent drug overdose. I'm sure they'll be debates on whether it was prescription or illegal, but either way, it's a shame in this day and age with what we know that people continue to abuse their bodies in this manner, with this the result.
He had three kids too. Sad.

It was untrue two days ago when it was reported:
“At about 11 a.m. ET on Friday (January 31, 2014), our beloved actor Philip Seymour Hoffman passed away. Philip Seymour Hoffman was born on July 23, 1967 in Fairport. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”
Today it's true.
Wonder what's gonna happen with the Hunger Games now....."Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."Comment

Sad. Heroin (reportedly found and with needle in arm) is such a wicked hell monster; most using it tend to be lost and suffering at those moments in their lives for reasons beyond comprehension.Last edited by Confessional; Feb 2, '14, 3:50 PM.Comment

He was a crazy good actor, absolutely deserving of his oscar. I first saw him in boogie nights and thought he was amazing in that.
If you've never struggled with addiction, even nicotine, you'll probably never understand how powerful it can be.
Hopefully he's at peace.Comment

Great actor...the kinda actor who truly immersed in the role. Take Boogie Nights for example...Hoffman played this creepy obnoxious dude...but he was great...I considered him an A-list character actor.
As for The Hunger Games...well...I hate those movies anyway...so I don't care what happens...but I'm sure they will carry on fine without Hoffman...all movies do...the mighty dollar rules in Hollywood.sigpicComment

"Investigators found a syringe in his left forearm, at least two plastic envelopes with what appeared to be heroin nearby, and five empty plastic envelopes in a trash bin, a law-enforcement official said."
It feels like a deliberate suicide...he really went all out...sigpicComment

This really bums me out. Big, big fan of his. If you haven't seen The Master then you really need to watch it. It is a tough movie to watch, mainly because none of the characters are particularly appealing, but it is incredibly compelling.Comment

But Hoffman certainly belonged up there as well.
Both equally talented...but Lewis is an A-list leading man...Hoffman more of an A-list character actor (except for Capote).
Lewis three times Best Leading Actor Oscars, Hoffman one.
Lewis edges Hoffman out....but as I said...both super talented.Last edited by Hector; Feb 3, '14, 1:56 AM.sigpicComment
