There's not too much US comedy that I watch, with the exception of The Simpsons, but I have enjoyed My Name Is Earl when I have caught it and another that seems to have drawn me in is Will & Grace - It's on midmorning here probably as a gap filler but if it's my day off I find myself watching it."I should say I`m very much cleverer than any of the people who put me here. As a matter of fact, I could leave any time I wanted. It`s only a doll`s house after all. Anyway, I don`t mind. I like dolls" - The Mad Hatter, Arkham Asylum.Comment

Im struggling to find a 4 and 5 fave US Comedy,
I think that the UK makes the best comedy...it tickles
my funny bone. But I think that the US makes the best
drama's. Sopranos etc.
In the UK when we make a drama it's all Emily Bronte type
period drama rubbish...except for
Dr. Who
Ok just my opinion.
Feel free to disagree...
For me the best comedy is when someone can take an ordinary situation that we can all relate to and make a joke out of it."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

1) Gilligan's Island - I love that show!
2) M*A*S*H
3) Get Smart - That's S as in Splendid, M as in Marvelous...
4) Friends
5) My Name is Earl
I really don't watch sitcoms much anymore. I've heard good things about The Office and 30 Rock, but never had a chance to watch them.Shameless self-promotion -

Wow, lot of mentions for Curb Your Enthusiam and My Name Is Earl. Two shows I have tried to watch and I find myself asking "why are these shows so popular and on TV?" I just don't get the humor.
As for "Friends", I have to go along with Toys2Cool because it was remarkably funny most of the time but I disagree about the Turkey sandwich episode. This was the breaking point for me where I just couldn't stand Ross anymore. By this time his character had become so overbearingly whiney that you just wanted to reach in and slap him. The other five characters remained likable for the entire run.Comment

^^^ I don't know any guy, or guys that just hung out & watched Friends, unless chicks were involved.
My Favorite ,.. & not mentioned yet is the "War at Home" . Other than the Teen Age Daughter situation, I can seriously relate to almost everyway the guy thinks,.. acts & what happens to him. It's great to sit back & watch someone else get screwed over in a Comedy show.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.
always trading for Hot Toys Figures .Comment

My Name is Earl
The Venture Brothers
Everybody Hates Chris
bubbling under are Roseanne, Soap, Malcolm in the Middle and freakazoid.
I must disagree about British humour being slapstick...what about Hancock, Porridge, Black Books, Spaced, The Office, Brass Eye, The DayToday, Dinnerladies, Ab Fab, Yes Minister, Billy Liar, Brush strokes, Butterflies, Dad's Army, Steptoe and Son, Drop the Dead donkey, Garth Merengie's Dark Place, Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy, I'm Alan Partridge, The New Statesman, Not only ...but Also, Red Dwarf, Rising Damp, The Royle Family, Shelley, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads....I could go on....yes I know some of them have slapstick and physical comedy in some episodes but it is not reliant on it for laughs.
I shall now move on to British drama...ENGLISH AND DAMN PROUD OF ITBritish by birth....English by the grace of God.
Yes Jamie...it is big isn't it....

I also like Kath and Kim, but most people here have probably never heard of it since it is Aussie.Comment
