Ocassionally I'll watch "Are You Being Served" on PBS here in the states.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".
t2cool----I always loved MR. BEAN-----I even am one of the few here who will cop to
LOVING the movie
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix
Sorry, I missed this one when I posted on the favorite US shows. I have loved British comedy ever since my father made me watch Monty Python with him in the 70's...

-Monty Python. This show shaped a great deal of my childhood
-Red Dwarf.
-Father Ted. BRILLIANT stuff!
-Black Adder (esp. the second and forth.) More brilliant stuff. It's amazing how quickly Rowan Atkinson could flip between dashing rogue and hideous little weasel. (He made a great Doctor as well.)
-My Hero has it's moments too. So does Hyperdrive.
One more mentionable is Da Ali G (aka Sacha Baron Cohen)
I know it was on HBO and not sure if it was shown in the UK but it was one of the most hilarious shows I have ever seen. I know everyone is a bit sick of his Borat character but if you go back to the original concept of the show of asking celebrities really stupid questions or playing on the prejudices of unsuspecting people, it was brilliant.
"The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."
~Vaclav Hlavaty
By far Benny Hill,I was just a little brat when it was on .Sat. night I believe, but it was great.Next would the Young Ones,a comedy that mtv use to air.The drummer always got his head chopped off.

"I should say I`m very much cleverer than any of the people who put me here. As a matter of fact, I could leave any time I wanted. It`s only a doll`s house after all. Anyway, I don`t mind. I like dolls" - The Mad Hatter, Arkham Asylum.
1. Phoenix Nights
2. The Office
3. One Foot In The Grave
4. Father Ted
5. Black Adder
As 5 is way too confining and there are too many good shows, I have to mention Fawlty Towers, Dad's Army, Porridge, Red Dwarf, Alan Partridge, Nighty Night, Only Fools and Horses, League of Gentleman, Yes Minister/Prime Minister, Nathan Barley, Mighty Boosh, Benny Hill, Steptoe and Son, Just Good Friends and Tommy Cooper as well.
