If you think you had it cold...

The coldest city on Earth...Yakutsk....a Siberian outpost, population 270,000.

Located 3,100 miles by air from Moscow, the remote city in the far east of Russia hits temperatures as low as -49 degrees Fahrenheit. Friday's forecast is a frigid -42 degrees Fahrenheit.

That seems almost balmy compared with the coldest recorded temperature: -83 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the Moscow Times.

The city is located about 280 miles south of the Arctic Circle...

    See?

You don't feel so cold after all...

Back in the early 1970's a place called White River Ontario Canada hit a record low for this country of - 61 There is a giant themometer in the town showing the record temperature. I has been around - 40 all week where I have been working outside. This past week was more survival than work. It warmed up to - 6 today.
