Wow thats a shock to the system, Shorts 1 day long johns the next.
That was pretty much how it was here in Missouri. It was up in the 70's and beautiful weather and then....WHAM!! People were wearing shorts and short sleeved shirts while shopping for lawn ornaments and what not for the nice outside weather. Then the weather suddently turned real cold in a short amount of time and the snow came in and snowed most of all of the day. Then it was nothing but snow plows, ice melt pellets, snow shovels/blowers, school closings, and parkas. It is now back up in the 70's again and most of the snow has melted although there are still a few remnants left over here and there. The retailers were happy with sales as they were finally able to unload some of that leftover winter stuff. The white stuff should all pretty much be gone today. (fingers crossed)
Short answer: nope.
Slightly longer answer: we haven't had real snow for years. Occassionaly it'll snow for about half an inch, maybe an inch if we're lucky, but it usually melts the same day
Winter came back and in a really big way.It started here just before noon on Friday, snow and sleet made it nasty outside. The crappy weather continued over night leaving a layer of ice over the snow. And now since 1:00 at least 4 more inches of snow has came down. The wind is really picking up and now we get to deal with drifting snow.I know come summer time when its over 90 degrees everyone will be complaining again, but for now I'm sick of winter time.
It sounds as if you just received what we just finished dealing with here in the midwest a couple of days ago. And here I had thought that we were going to be home free once March had finally arrived. This ended up being the worst winter day yet for us in Missouri. We ended up getting about 6 to 10 inches in most places including where I live. Thank goodness that I am fortunate enough and do not have to get out in any of that mess. I sat inside and watched the news primarily for the weather. I seen a bunch of wrecks due to the ice and snow. I for one welcome the 90 degree weather with no complaints at all. I personally like it hot and never complain when it is hot because I know how bad it sucks when it is cold.
Finally we will be up to the forties on Wed. This town cannot take anymore snow. We have snow mounds piled almost four to five stories high in some parking lots. I hope it don't melt too fast or most of Janesville will be under water.
We headed to West Virginia for some skiing. Saturday afternoon, high winds, big blizzard but stopped quickly. Still left about 4 or 5 inches on the ground.
Drove home yesterday (3 hours), and I don't think we had anything in Maryland
