In light of a tragic shipping of a vintage Mego, I went hunting for the article I was reading a week or so ago - found it.
I thought it was clever how claims could be denied if the proper tape was not used…even more interesting was the cooler idea.
We recently had a package come to us that - at first glance, I thought the shipper was major OCD - moreso than myself even.
It was a small item, that was in a large box.
Within that box, was a good two inches of packing peanuts surrounding a second box.
Inside that second box, was a little red cooler.
Inside that cooler was the item all snug as a bug in packing peanuts.
After reading that article though, I felt bad I assumed the sender was OCD (like me)….but clearly, the item was valuable and he/she must have been down the path before where something got busted and they bit the bullet because Insurance found a loophole to avoid paying on a claim.
I certainly will consider something like the cooler if I ship an item that is quite expensive…could be the best $5 ever spent.
