You know that scene in Christmas Vacation where the cat gets electrocuted by chewing the strand of Christmas lights?
Well, it's funny in the movie... But not so funny when it really happens.
Two nights ago, our kitty Ramona, who I swear has used up several of her nine lives, suddenly freaked out over by the Christmas tree. The lights when off, she went running, and we found the cord had been bitten.
FORTUNATELY, she seems to be okay two days later. I don't think she got zapped too badly. Her mouth shows no signs of burns, and she's acting just fine. We've been watching her like a hawk. Supposedly (according to the internet), it can do heart and lung damage that can show up days later, so we are listening for any congestion in her breathing. My wife and I are both satisfied she's okay, but I'll feel better after a week has passed and we can laugh about it.
This is the same cat who my wife came home one day, and found her hanging upside down by her leg, bloodied and tangled in a window blind cord, like Luke Skywalker in the Wampa cave!
