    My Kitty Got Zapped

You know that scene in Christmas Vacation where the cat gets electrocuted by chewing the strand of Christmas lights?

Well, it's funny in the movie... But not so funny when it really happens.

Two nights ago, our kitty Ramona, who I swear has used up several of her nine lives, suddenly freaked out over by the Christmas tree. The lights when off, she went running, and we found the cord had been bitten.

FORTUNATELY, she seems to be okay two days later. I don't think she got zapped too badly. Her mouth shows no signs of burns, and she's acting just fine. We've been watching her like a hawk. Supposedly (according to the internet), it can do heart and lung damage that can show up days later, so we are listening for any congestion in her breathing. My wife and I are both satisfied she's okay, but I'll feel better after a week has passed and we can laugh about it.

This is the same cat who my wife came home one day, and found her hanging upside down by her leg, bloodied and tangled in a window blind cord, like Luke Skywalker in the Wampa cave!

Yikes! Glad to hear she is okay.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Whoa, that is indeed scary. We sorta joked about this with our new cat, but I'm not laughing now that it happened to someone in real life!

Well, hopefully she learned her lesson, and won't try it again.

Heheh… Good news… She's doing just fine, and we are several days later. I think it's safe to laugh about it now. I call her nicknames like "Sparky" and "Electro" now. Here's a pic of the little bugger.

Im glad she is doing well. Years ago we had a Golden Retreiver when she was a puppy she would crawl under or behind things and chew the cords. A pop followed by a puff of smoke would billow out from behind with sweet Casie wobbling out happily.

My cat did the same thing.
She didn't come down from the attic for two days, but she was fine afterwards.

Your cat seems like a real daredevil, hope she's ok.

On the plus side, she may be able to fight Spiderman now...
