White Christmas audio commentary podcast

Our friend Rob (namtab29) Kelly, he of many blogs and the great "Hey Kids, Comics" book, is a HUGE fan of the classic film White Christmas, and wanted to do an audio commentary on it. I was game, so we did it! If you like the movie (and who doesn't?), take a listen to two guys gushing about a classic film. Merry Christmas!

You guys should do a podcast on Holiday Inn next year. White Christmas was actually introduced in the movie along withEaster Bonnet and Happy Holidays an a several othe Irving Berlin standards. Fred Astaire co stars rather than Danny Kaye. While I like WC, I think HI is a better film, but a black-face routine centered around Lincoln's Birthday has understandably made it difficult for it to be aired, other than very late on TCM. I don't think TCM ran it this year.

Remember the Night is another solid holiday-themed film with Fred McMurray and Barbara Stanwyck that suffers from a scene or two of stereotypical racist humor that demeans an otherwise fun screwball comedy.

Rob actually mentions Holiday Inn early on in the podcast. I've never seen it (other than snippets here and there), but Rob said he wasn't moved by it like White Christmas. But I'll be sure to check it out.

I'd like to do more of these. I had a blast. It's always fun to gab with Rob on stuff you like. His enthusiasm is infectious.
