    My afternon visitors

A pair of pileated woodpeckers has been visiting the tree next to my driveway. Since it is such a beautiful, sunny day, I grabbed my camera to wait for them today. While I cannot seem to capture the pair together, I got some great photos of the male today.

Wow, those would make for great Christmas cards. Nice shots!

We had a woodpecker around here awhile back. I just realized I hadn't seen or heard him in some time.

Great pics! I hear one from time to time but never get that good of a look at him. Looks like he's been working that spot for awhile.

UGH! I just hate woodpeckers. I have a little black and grey one that comes by every year and puts holes in my back patio. I'd shoot him but I know he's just doing what woodpeckers do ...... and that it's against the law too

That is a good picture. I get some of them around here but that one looks prettier.

I get alot of hummingbirds during the summer, they love the nector I leave out.

I don't have Woodpeckers but I have a pair of Mallard Ducks that visit my back yard daily every spring.

Very nice pics. I agree that these would make awesome holiday pics.

Awesome! I've been feeding downy and hairy woodpeckers (and the occasional flicker, love them) for years. I think I've seen a pileated twice in all that time..

I get a couple Northern Flickers here also and they are interesting bird to watch. After a year of puzzle working, I think my 2014 year-long project might be to photograph as many birds out my Michigan Birds book as I can find.
