They wouldn't do anything but give him directions home. As long as he wasn't legally drunk, I think that's funny stuff and how could they prove it was a prank.

I think your friend is paying Onstar for the service, so they would have to comply even if you called in over and over I think. It's not a public service.

Just based on that, there's nothing they can do. However, Onstar might have some follow up questions for him that include ,"have you been drinking?" He might think twice about lying if it's somewhere in the fine print of the Onstar contract about pranks and prosecution of such pranks.

So a friend of mine bought a new truck, and he has a pretty good sense of humor. He wants to call ONSTAR from the bar parking lot and ask them for directions home. He thinks it would be funny, I think he will go to jail, or at least get beat by the police when they show up and he's still there because ONSTAR has turned off his car stopping him from driving home from the bar. What do you think would happen?
