    Anyone have an Iphone?

I don't know if this has been brought up already, but I am thinking of getting an I-Phone. Are they really worth it, or are they just over-priced "yuppie thing to be seen with" waste of money? I do not text message, and I do not need a mp3 player.

I can get the phone and add about $20-30 to my monthly cell phone bill just to get internet.

I am trying to decide between this phone or a wi-fi card for my laptop.

My friend has it,and it's awesome...but honestly if you don't need it for the texting or Ipod, then I don't know if it's worth spending $400,just get the WI-FI card then. But man it is a sweet phone though

I own one myself, got it in december, I really like it for the wifi capabilities and the text options (it shows like an MSN conversation) so its easy to read the history etc. If you dont text and wont use the ipod aspect I dont really see value in owning one myself. The camera is very good, the pic quality is nice compared to other cell phones pics you see. People are writing applications and stuff for it all the time so you can install new stuff daily, I have a NES emulator and can play all the original nintendo games and stuff like that. But if thats not your thing again not really a point if you wont use it for games and such.

      hope that helps

i'm not a tech freak over things like that. being 37 I've gotten out of the years where i would have texted anyone or anything else on it.

I have the ipod touch ( which is the same minus phone) and love the thing. It does all the laptop stuff I need but fits in my pocket. Every day I am stunned by what a beautiful little piece of the future it is. However the mp3 component is crucial to me and I would have spent 300 bucks to replace my stolen ipod anyhow. I won't get the iphone as I am happy with my cell company and don't want to switch to AT&T(which I have had problems with in the past, I guess it's better now but I am bitter and hold grudges) . So, if you don't need the mp3 aspect, don't text, don't want to switch cell phone carriers, I can't imagine why you'd want to drop $500 on a new phone if you are not going to use all the features... get a laptop.

I bought one and sold it a week later. The battery life truly stinks and it doesn't have 3G! If I were you I'd wait for the next generation ones to come out. Hopefully they'll address these shortfalls.

I bought my first iPod, the Touch a couple months ago. Loved it. I wanted the convenience of the internet in my pocket wherever I go..so I bought the 16gb iPhone and signed the At&T plan. Out of the box, my co-worker jailbroke the thing so I could put different apps on it. I really like this thing. Are there better phones or phone plans out there? Sure, I bet there are...but the iPhone is frackin awesome cool and scores two thumbs up IMO.

did you buy one of the first ones that came out? I wouldnt say the battery life stinks..but of course it depends on the amount of use, talk etc...I find myself charging it every 2 or 3 days.
