    John Lennon

Whenever this day rolls around I reflect about my nearly life-long love of the Beatles. I had been a casual fan of their music up until Lennon was murdered, but I really became obsessed after his death. They are still my favorite band of all time, and I do like a lot of Lennon and McCartney's solo work thereafter, but if I could only listen to one band for the rest of my life I would always pick the Beatles. Hands down. I love that my daughter enjoys their music so much and that we have fun singing their songs in the car. We just watched A Hard Day's Night for the first time and she got a big kick out if it.

    Here's one of my favorites:

Love the Beatles as well and happy to say my 14 year old daughter enjoys them as well. I took her to see Rain a few weeks ago, it's a tribute band(I had seen them once before) and they put on an awesome show.

No band since has come close to the level of innovation that was The Beatles. John was a talent and an amazing human being.

I had forgotten that this is the anniversary of his death. RIP John.

He is sorely missed. My kids (7 and 4 years old) love the Beatles too. "Hey Bulldog" above is one of their favorites (mine too), my 4 year old always tries singing along with it, it's funny.

I am a lifelong fan as well, my kids of course love the Beatles too. I thought about going down to Strawberry Fields today in Central Park but it was just too damn cold

Huge lifelong Beatles fan (as you can probably tell from my profile pic). Learned to love them from my Dad. Still my favorite band.
Yes, it's always a sad day to think back on this. RIP John.

I've been a Beatles fan since I was about 7 or 8 years old. Same goes for being a Paul and Wings Fan. Never was a huge fan of John's solo work. All that being said the man was part of a group that revolutionized music. They broke all the barriers to lay out the road map for the music to come in the 60's and beyond. His senseless murder was a wake up call to people all over the world. Can't believe it's been 33 years since that night. Can't believe it's also been 12 years since George's passing from cancer. They are probably jamming up in heaven with Jimi, Moon, and all the other greats that have passed on. RIP John.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
                  The beauty that surrounds them
                  Isn't it a pity".
