Patrick Swayze has five weeks to live?

This was revealed by the gossip magazine National Enquire... but it's now popping into different news sites:

Patrick Swayze cancer reports confirmed - New Zealand's source for entertainment news, gossip & music, movie & book reviews on Stuff.co.nz

Supposedly his spokesman has confirmed the story according to a Wikipedia entry:

Patrick Swayze - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    If it's true...wow...truly shocking.

    That's a shame (if it's true)

A guilty pleasure favourite movie of mine has always been Ghost

    I also liked Red Dawn.

Here's an MSNBC story (the news network I trust the least but I hope this is true none the less) that says he is responding to treatment and that the dire prediction of 5 weeks (or as I heard on the radio 6-9 months) is not expected.

The guy is in shape and I'm sure, strong. I wouldn't count him out yet. There are always possibilities.

Anyway, lets hope for the best. Never been a real fan but he has been in some fun movies.

If it is indeed pancreatic cancer the prognosis is generally not very good. It's not really a treatable cancer. It will kill him. Sad news.

                  "The Outsiders", his best film

"To Wong Foo", a really funny movie. Him and Wesley Snipes in drag.

More power to him, and I hope he makes it.

I also heard the news and felt sad. This should also serve as a sober reminder to all of us to not take life for granted. He is 55 years old (but looks a lot younger).

He seems like a fighter and although he might ultimately meet an early death, I'm sure he won't go down without a fight and I really liked him in Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Red Dawn, and really love the SNL skit he performed with Chris Farley in trying out for a Chippendales dancer....it's a classic.

Whoa thats a shock. I always liked him in the movies he was in. He seemed to disappear off the radar and into some lesser films. I hope he can beat the odds.

A real shame, I like his movies. And I loved North and South when I was a kid.
