    Friday night comfort food

    Lets make grilled cheese sandwiches.
    How do you build yours?
American cheese at least 2 slices, bread buttered outside for the browning effect, and filled with bacon or pepperoni , both if both are on hand.

I put country crock on the outsides of the bread and I use 2 slices of Tilamook Sharp cheese. Sometimes I put mesquite smoked turkey or black forest ham inbetween the slices of cheese. Yummy!

Velveeta all day, every day. Yeah it's an artery clogger, but anything else just doesn't cut it.

Grilled Cheese= Butter on the outside (get you some block cheese (Government Cheese was the best back in the day)) Cut you off a nice hunk and BOOM Grilled Cheese like Gram used to make. If you have Ham, Turkey, Heck even Bologna throw it on there you cant go wrong. serve with a dill pickle on the side.

Disagree w/ artery clogger, at least on the Singles. I use Velveeta Singles as much as possible because they taste great but are low in fat & saturated fat: each slice has 2g of fat, of which 1g is saturated. Because of that, I'm willing to use real butter when cooking the sandwich, so yay!

Well my fave way to eat grilled cheese is on Rosemary potato bread w/ butter and swiss and put in the broiler til it's melted and crispy on top and soft underneath.

But since it's Friday night, it's Totino's frozen cheese pizza (it's the closest thing I can get to Jeno's Pizza Snack tray from back in the day), and chocolate milk, to be eaten in front of the Brady Bunch and Partridge Family.

It should come as no surprise that, being a picky eater, I am going to say that I do not like grilled cheese sandwiches. I do make them for Ed once in a while, though; sourdough bread, whatever cheese we happen to have, ham or bacon all plopped in the George Foreman Grill.

My preferred Friday night meal. Hey, it has wheat, barley and hops...it's practically bread.
