Nothing more than a publicity stunt the day before the busiest online shopping day of the year. But I'll promise this, if they actually try this, ups drivers will be practicing their "skeet shooting" skills. Lol

It's pretty brilliant, Amazon was on everybody's lips on cyber Monday.

Yeah, I think it was a great marketing coup, everyone was talking about it, and Amazon. I hope it really happens because that would be cool. I'd hate to see how much it would cost for the shipping upgrade though. And I'm sure an Amazon Prime Air membership would cost more than $79 a year!

I'm pretty sure I don't need anything from Amazon in 30 minutes.

I can see the law suits coming now when one of those orange boxes falls from a Drone and hits someone/something.

if the price is not too bad I would pay for 30 minute drone delivery. I do think all the drones in the air will be a safety issue really quick though

Yes, obvious publicity stunt, and it worked in spades.

About the actual flying drone concept, we don't quite have that technology there yet, not only would it require a massive navigational control network, years of actual testing, legal and logistical issues, but the main problem would be the current neanderthal population we still have in this day and age...I can already picture the hundreds and thousands of thugs salivating at the thought of blasting those things down, poor drones, it would be open season for them.

I live in rural Tennessee and I can guarantee you that if they're not bullet proof those things will never get to their destination.

I'm guessing that they would be flying high enough to avoid detection from gun toting good ol' boys until they reach their destination, when they would just fly straight down for delivery and then right back up out of sight again. And I'm pretty sure that "rural" areas would be way out of their range anyway, they won't be delivering outside of urban areas, within decent range from Amazon distribution centers, until their battery life is greatly improved.

The problem is that urban areas are more violent and worse than rural ones, lol.
