I recently tried out the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 Tablet computer. They offer the ability to use whatever software you like as opposed to an iPad. However, I personally found it to be cramped and irritating. A lot of people I know are excited about these new tablet computers, Samsung's Ativ. or Even the Galaxy Note.

Cintiq was the best investment ever for me, it paid for itself with the first job. Intuous when I need portability with a laptop.

      Hmmmm....

I got one a little ways back. Being a Luddite I'm not a big fan.... but they have their uses. I use mine mostly for masks and the like. It's a matter of taste mostly. If you DO get one, start with a decent one (they get pricey in a hurry; I got the oversized Bamboo and it works fine for what I do) and practice a while before you decide if it's useful or not. Using them takes a LOT of practice, and they feel unnatural for the longest time.
