Supplement company Airborne to settle $23.3M suit

I use Airborne when I'm just beginning to feel under the weather and need that extra boost. It always seemed to help. Must be the placebo effect.

    Here's the story...

I didn't think about filing a claim but mabye I should... I'm sure there are going to be people who will file a claim even if they never used the product.

Cool! I don't know why, but I have a receipt dated 2002 that I tacked onto my wall at work. I purchased 8 boxes of airborne @ $5.99 each, to a tune of $47.92. The suit will only cover 5 or 6 I think...but there was a reason why I have been saving this receipt!!

I always took it and thought it worked well. Shows how powerful the notion of suggestion is I guess. I will get well soon .... I will get well soon ...

They're denying any wrongdoing but settling anyway?

              Isn't that a misstep?

Anyways, I gotta admit, this stuff worries me (if not angers me)
because I rely that these products are gonna work---right?
(Isn't there like some kinda FDA thing they have to pass to go on market
              in the first place?)

I mean, I spent at least a couple hundred bucks on this stuff over the years...
now they're saying it has NO effect on what it says it should?

              Lame...real lame.

I don't believe that this stuff doesn't work,.. I just can't. I have seriously had no success with other cold remitees. This stuff works,.. unless it was in my head that it worked... I am so confused now.

it works for me... anytime i feel a cold coming on, i'll take it and it's gone. i dont think it's effective once you already have a cold tho.

They should give you more just for having a receipt from 2002.

The FDA doesn't have to approve over the counter medications, only prescription drugs.

If an over the counter drug/supplement makes an assertion about its ability to treat something, it has to be approved by the FDA, otherwise there should be a disclaimer on the box or bottle saying something to the effect that the statements have not been approved by the FDA.
