John, I regret to hear that your Aunt is not doing well as of now. I can only hope and pray with you as well as others that she pulls through and betters her life in the future. I also have an Aunt although she is not at the status your is now she is not doing well health wise either do to her very bad smoking habit. She to has smoked for years like Adam West's Aunt. I feel that it is only really a matter of time for her (my Aunt) at the rate she continues to abuse her body. The worst part of all of this in your case as well as there is really nothing that one can do but sit back and hope and pray for the best outcome. I am so grateful at times like this that I did not take up smoking, drinking or drugs. I save a lot of money for my Mego's by not doing so. On a more positive note the only real habit that I have right now if you will is Mego's. I really only joke about that (collecting Mego's) as a habit. So far these collectibles have not been know to kill anyone that I know of anyway. I am constantly amazed at how such addictions can take over a person and totally consume them. My Aunt has breathing problems and cannot walk distances anymore. She is one step away from the oxygen tank and her Doctor told her to either stop smoking or die. She still continue to smoke regardless what the Doctor tells her. I just do not get it? If a Doctor told me to give up Mego's or die I would not be thrilled with it of course. Although if I knew it would be for my best interest I would regrettably quit collecting. Thank goodness that is not an issue. I guess maybe she thinks in her mind that it is too late and the damage is already done. The most I ever drink is a glass of nice wine on special occasions and during a nice romantic dinner with my girlfriend. It has been said that everything happens for a reason. There are times that I wished that I only had a better understanding of why. Perhaps these our examples set for the rest of us to take heed. Take care and hang in there.

Again, I think it goes back to the addiction issue. Alcohol and cigarettes are physically addictive and it's hard to put yourself in those shoes if you haven't experienced it.
