My younger brother preordered one and also preordered the xbox one. I was on the fence because my kids acted like they really didnt want one. After my youngest got to play my brothers, he cant live without it. Now im stuck checking stores daily to see if I can get one before xmas. A target employee told me that they get stock every thursday and that they were getting 20 of them in every thurs till xmas.

I'm hearing that people can't figure out how to turn it on. Don't know how true that is.

I had no issue at all with that, but the power and eject buttons are not exactly screaming at you.

I just bought a PS3 earlier this year, so my answer is no, I ain't buying the PS4 until mine clunks out.

Same thing with this bloody new iPhone 5, I'm using my iPhone 4S until it also clunks out on me, lol.

I'm still considering a Ps3. I always go with systems ONE GENERATION behind. Its cheaper and easier to do your homework on what the system has to offer. I'm always afraid of a launch filled with system malfunctions.

I think the new Android based systems like the Ouya are interesting. No where near the power but I like that they are open sourced and anyone with game creation skills can make games for it.

I have to wonder just how much more videogames will advanced. I havent really been wowed by a system since the dreamcast and playstation 2.

I havent done the research on either of the new systems and I don't know how true this is, but I have heard that neither of the new systems will be compatable with the older generation games.
Anyone have any insight to this.

You are correct, neither the PS4 or Xbox One will play the previous generations games.

You can go wrong with a PS3 I think, and the prices will drop on them. Lots of great games out for it and it works great as a Bluray player and media player in general.

Theres already reports of glitches. The system has already surpassed a million units in the past 24 hours.

A friend of mine got up early Friday and managed to snag one at Target. It's pretty neat, but there are some issues that need to be addressed, like no YouTube.

My unexpected favorite part of the new systems is the sharing. You can log in and watch people who are sharing their gameplay live over the internet. My friend and I watched someone playing Madden football and it was a lot more entertaining than I thought... the game was pretty funny because the one player, who had never played Madden before (or so they claim) and didn't know much about football, was beating his friend who had a lot of experience, and that guy was getting all frustrated. The stream isn't really super-high definition or anything, but it was a lot of fun, and it's pretty smart marketing on Sony's part... It's another way of previewing a game before you spend $60 on it.

I'm planning on getting one, but I'll wait until after the new year. Hopefully early glitches will be sorted out by then and it will be easier to find. I did the same thing with the PS3 (and knock on wood, that baby is still working fine for me after owning it for 6 1/2 years).
