Jeff Haley, jazz rocker, dead at 41

41-year-old blind jazz rocker, Jeff Healey, has died of retinoblastoma, a form of retinal cancer.

The poor guy was fighting this terrible disease since he was one-year-old, wow.

I'm sure some of you remember him in the Patrick Swayze movie Road House, he played, well, who else, the blind blues rocker in the bar.

    Man, way too young.

    RIP.

Same age as I am. He was an unreal guitar player. Played it flat sitting on his lap. To think the disease took his sight when he was 1 and he dealt with it for another 40 years. RIP

That sucks. I really wanted to catch one of his shows. I had no idea he was so bad off. I've made myself several mix cds over the years, and JHB is on most of them at least once or twice. RIP.

He was from my neck of the woods, a close friend of mine even (unsuccessfully) dated his sister a few years back. He was still involved heavily in the CDN music scene, shame to see him go.

Amazing, amazing man. Not to make light---but there's gotta be a movie in this guy's
            life story. RIP
