    My favorite album of 2013

    Twelve Foot Ninja

Yeah goofy name and very strange music, but this stuff just hits with me. They combine several genres into one cohesive concept album about a ninja (duh) as his quest for redemption. They mix metal elements with 70's funk, Queen harmonies, Faith No More quirkiness, disco and whatever else I have yet to discover. The videos are truly bizarre, yet hard to take your eyes off them. THey are ridiculously talented and deserving of US exposure. It's refreshing to see a band not take themselves so seriously and actually have a sense of humor.
    Enjoy...or probably not.

Here's an example of their vocal harmonies, pretty slick Alice in Chains kinda stuff.

I haven't bought anything new this year, and not sold on this stuff either.

I honestly don't think I bought any new music either.

I am especially fond of the singer's pants.

Monsters of Legend by Midnight Syndicate

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Heard of 12 Foot Ninja but never listened to them before. Interesting stuff, probably awesome to see it performed live. My guitarist Vito would be all about this, he loves quirky Djent-y stuff.
