    Not really a good idea

I'm trying to figure out why all of these stores are having their big sales start on Thanksgiving. Last thing I want to do after I've been pigging out on turkey all day is go shopping. I'd rather veg in front of the TV.

Black Friday is a great example of how low modern society has sunken to sickening levels. An employee was trampled to death at a Wal-Mart in the town I grew up in. I watched one news report about somebody hitting children in the face with mace and just look at the cellphone videos of the fights. People acting like uncivilized animals over toasters.

I did a Facebook rant on this topic, and then I thought about it a little more...with stores opening at 8 or earlier, there are probably going to be people still drunk who go out shopping. Drive defensively if you go out.

My store is required to open 6pm on Thanksgiving to get a jump on everyone else opening at 8. Its freakin shoes! I love retail.

There is no better time for sacking out on the couch than Thanksgiving night. Why would anyone want to leave that to go shopping?

                    Hmmmm....

As part of the "War on Christmas," Christmas has advanced the line and annexed Thanksgiving with a pre-emptive strike. Halloween and Arbour Day have enetered a Non-Aggression pact with President's Day, and are seeking an alliance with Valentine's Day to halt Christmas's advance.

Is that a black Friday only deal? I wonder if it will be on the Internet Monday?

I saw that on the news that year. I live North of that area, in Bayside/Whitestone and it disgusted me. That guy was a big, burly guy and he was stampeded to death. I work or stay in but I don't do holiday shopping.

Yeah stuff like that happens and retailers wonder why people do more shopping online.

huh. Walmart is getting a lot of flak for being open on Thanksgiving. Yet there's no uproar over Toys R Us,Big Lots and others being open then.
