I have 2 KMarts near me and both look like those photos. I have always shopped there but after Sears bought them out the prices really went through the roof on a lot of item

Four words never heard at a K-mart

      "Hey, good job cleaning."

My sister in law is a front end manager or something like that, she's been there for 25 years. She refuses to admit they are circling the drain and that things are just fine. She's likely in denial, so I try not to poop on her career too much.

My all-time favorite store closed around 1980, Ayr-Way in Evansville, IN. I guess it was a discount version of LS Ayres. I distinctly remember buying all of my Megos from there. The toy department was right next to lawn care, and I always got a whiff of fertilizer every time I went. They literally had a twenty foot aisle of nothing but Mego. Target bought up the chain
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I remember the Ayr-Way in Evansville fondly, but strangely I don't remember Megos there. I remember more from the KMart!

^^^I forgot you and Ian are both from my hometown. Yeah, the AW on Diamond Ave. had all kinds of shelf space for them, just behind the music department and all the 8-tracks and vinyl and right before the door with all the plastic strips hanging down that led to lawn care. The back wall was all Star Wars stuff. Will somebody finally PLEASE invent the time machine!

I too remember them at K-Mart. That was where I got pretty much everything I had from my childhood.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

Just imagine all of the overtime their employees will rack up.

If they don't keel over from exhaustion first!
I may be wrong, but I'm guessing most of their employees are part-time and don't get OT. That's how Wal-Mart does it around here.

The K-Mart where 95% of my childhood toys were purchased is still in business at the same location.

And now K-Mart is in trouble because they're going to be open for Thanksgiving. So,it's okay for Toys R Us to be open on Thanksgiving but not K-Mart?

Those photos could have been taken in my local K-mart. It's a shame, but their mission statement seems to be "Whatever!" The fixtures are outdated, the products are disorganized, and the employees look disheveled and unmotivated.

A lot of stores are open on Thanksgiving, but not all day. I think that was the issue most people were upset about.
