The best way to package Mego items

In your own opinion what do you find to be the best for packaging:

    loose Mego action figures

I use priority USPS. Therefore, I use the FREE priority boxes. I wrap the figure real good in bubble wrap. I used to use packing peanuts and now I am getting away from that as I feel that it is too messy. What do you think? What is your method? How do you wish to receive your items in order to satisfy you when they arrive?

    carded Mego action figures

I utilize the same method as above and in addition I still use packing peanuts for the carded items.

I am trying to get a feel for what Megoheads thinks works the best. I know I have personally received figures without any packing shoved in priority cube boxes, figures packed with yesterdays news and so on just to name a few. While they all arrived in the condition that was stated in the ad(s) I could not help but wonder what if. Your suggestions are appreciated.
Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009

well if it's an ok figure,I just bubble wrap it and send it in a small box,now if it's a carded figure I better receive it packaged with the works, cause I that's how I would ship it out.Good box, peanuts, bubble wrap..

All the excess walmart bags make great shipping material.

Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?

i use peanuts and put them in a box three times the size of teh card usually they get thier good for acrded figures i have shipped probally about 30 carded figures one arrived with a damaged card. of coiurse if it was abn expensive figure i would bubble wrap and use the machine t work that forms a foam around the card. for loose figures i alwasy put them in a bag first then box them with peanuts. i have sent figures all over the world havent had any problems with damage. mike

              Right on the money.

I usually grab a slab of them, it has about 200 bags neatly pressed.

I always ask them first, they give me the go ahead...they are actually cool about it.

Bubble wrap and unbleached newspaper if available for filler. USPS Prority Mail is a rip off in my opinion. First Class gets it there just as quick (and I've tested this lots of times) and costs much less. Priority boxes are not FREE, trust me, they make their money back in the extra postage for essentially the same service as first class. They are sturdy because they weigh more, also increasing the cost they can charge.

You can only use First Class for letters or certain small packages that weigh 13oz. or less, after which First Class becomes Priority Mail. I'm all for using FC too for the light stuff, but unfortunately it's pretty rare that stuff weighs less than 13oz.

^^ I think he meant parcel post which is pretty much the same as 1st class

I use to just take the priority boxes and wrap them with the paper brown bags and ship them that way,but it started to take too much time

You wouldn't believe how much abuse a box goes through went sent around the world. Sellers take great care, and then the Postal Office seems to use bulldozers to move the boxes (at least, that is how it looks like). I just got my ST Andorian in the mail: no amount of bubble wrap and peanuts could protect this guy: his bubble was crushed to bits. Great: another MISB item (mint in smashed box). His last words were: "The packaging canna take anymore, captain!"
                        .
                        .

First class is the equivalent of Priority Mail, one just turns into the other when the weight goes over 13oz, and the delivery time for both is typically 1-3 days. Parcel post deliverly times are slower, 2-9 days depending on distance.

They have lowered the allowable first class weight recently to that 13 ounce limit, but there are lots of items I receive that would have fallen into that category if they weren't using those heavy boxes the USPS provides. Bubble wrap will protect most things, even in a less sturdy box or envelope.
