Better Question Why does everyone like Duck Dynasty
I don't think there is anything at Walmart that doesn't have this show's logo plastered on it. I personally have never watched it, doesn't look at all interesting to me.

I had refused to watch the show, but my brother made me sit down and watch it.
It's silly without a doubt and scripted, but it is funny. Reminds me of the silliness and camaraderie in a football locker room in high school. It may be a southern thing.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not growing out my hair and beard and wearing bandanas, but it'll make you laugh if you let it.
I've seen parts of it and I find it ridiculous. Nothing remotely real about it. I also saw that stuff in wal mart the other day, they had more duck dynasty junk than alabama football stuff. It was a bandwagon fans dream! I guess growing up in the south seeing dudes like this is not really a novelty. I think it's fine if other folks like it, it's just not for me.
Two words, stupid and scripted but that covers so many shows that I refuse to watch. Just another show capitalizing on the Hillybilly craze at the moment. They seem to be good people but that doesn't mean I want to watch bumpkins acting stupid. Obviously in real life they're very intelligent people so the innocent silliness is too hard to believe and makes it even more acted and scripted than a lot of other shows.
I don't know but to speak ill of it here is blasphemy. I went to lunch with an old friend a while back, and for a solid hour, all he would talk about was Duck Dynasty. I swear it was like talking to a pod person who had replaced my friend.
I watched about 5 minutes of it after this, and it seemed far too scripted. I guess it's good clean fun, but I don't get the mass appeal.
Really they do seem like good people and they also seem to stand for what they believe in as far as faith, family and so on so that makes it even a bit more hard to handle when they play so dumb and ignorant. To each their own though as i'm very sure a lot of people would ask me why I watch some of the shows that I watch
I didn't start watching the show until the first season was almost over. I found that Uncle Si made me laugh out loud with his offbeat goofiness. I was hooked from then on.
Read my blog at Moongem Comics about comics, toys and more.
I've heard of this show, and I've seen all the dopey merchandise at Walgreens in the greeting card section, but I'm not planning on watching it.

'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."
I have to go into two different Wal Mart's for my job and it's interesting that in the one that's far more out in the country has a MUCH bigger selection of Duck Dynasty items yet none of it really seems to be selling. I'm sure some will go for the holiday season and then it'll all be clearanced out when the fad dies.
I've never watched it and don't see myself being able to get into it, but I don't fault those that do. I have two friends who are hooked on it, the same way that I was hooked on Pawn Stars earlier this year (long after the initial popularity) and Hoarders at various points while it was in production. I think as long as you go in knowing that these shows are scripted and/or edited to be entertaining, then there's no harm.
GAH! I cannot stand these hillbilly or make fun of embarassing people type shows.
What's weird is my completely serious and uber-grown-up sister (she's been a cop and security prison guard) thinks they absolutely hilarious, calling me up and ordering me to watch them. Complete opposites, I guess.
All it takes is 5 minutes of each one and I'll never watch again. I will not watch and you can't make me.
Actually if you strapped me to a chair Clockwork Orange, that'd be one way to ensure I'd go insane.
