My wife and I go to the same place....we both just went on Saturday. Total bill = $210 including tip. My portion = $45 including tip, and my haircut typically takes only 15 minutes. It all depends where you go. Someone who owns their own shop vs renting space. Women are just higher maintenance then men.
Note, these prices are cheaper than anyone else in the area

GOOD-GRIEF, lot more expensive than it used to be. I am so glad I do my own hair now. With long hair, I would never ever be able to afford getting all three things done. I didn't realize it was so expensive nowadays (I've always been on the level 2 tier )
Dry cleaning drives me especially mad! Why should I pay more for my cotton button down shirt then a men's button down shirt? grrr
It's hard for me to guess about the hair thing from personal experience. I'm mostly bald and just buzz my head a couple times a month for free. I don't even own brush or buy shampoo. My wife isn't an obsessive hair woman by any stretch, but because of her hair type it seems to be a big ongoing commitment and process that takes up a chunk of her life no matter what. She's got tons of product, hair devices and daily routines.
The dry cleaning thing sounds like clear cut discrimination though. I mean, are they doing the work differently if it's a man's shirt or a woman's shirt? I'll have to check her dry cleaning bill next time just to see what our guy does.
Simple, ladies care more about how their hair look. Guys don't, that why those $6.00 place are there. As long as we have beer money left over were happy and besides it will grow back.
